Inspired by my father, former Whitby Mayor Des Newman, I will lead with integrity, broad experience and deep Whitby roots guided by community consultation and expert advice.
For fiscal decision-making, I will keep taxes as low as possible through careful spending.
I will champion Whitby to attract new business to increase the tax base and increase local jobs.
For the environment, I will collaborate to achieve climate goals and inspire a reduction in waste, water use, energy use and carbon emissions.
For safety, I will ensure adequate Police and Fire protection, Neighbourhood Watch programs and encourage home security cameras.
For quality of life, I will advocate for affordable housing, downtown and waterfront enhancements and an inclusive and united community for all.
